With its doors first opening during the prominent festival of Clerkenwell Design Week last May, the Formica Group UK showroom is now a meeting point for architects and designers who want to immerse themselves in the outstanding possibilities of surface design. In a journey through the centennial heritage strengthening the group’s vision always towards the future, a Time Tunnel will take you back to the start of the company’s history up to explore the modern day recently refreshed Formica® Laminate Collection. Visitors will discover how the fascinating and colourful world of the group’s laminates has influenced the way we live and perceive interior spaces. Over the course of history, in fact, the company has grown and evolved, always adapting itself to new design visions and new requirements as well as to socio-cultural changes.
Since its foundation in 1913, Formica Group has worked to create multifunctional, practical and durable designed surfaces around the world. Providing material for numerous applications – from interior doors, furniture, shop fittings, to hospitality, wall paneling and washrooms – the company’s laminates entered people’s daily lives and made modernity dreams come true.
Located at 5 Clerkenwell Road, the showroom presents both residential and commercial solutions in a large range of decors and finishings, including woods, patterns, colors and metal laminates, which visitors can fully appreciate by booking a one-to-one appointment with the team. In addition to the Time Tunnel, visitors are invited in the samples area, where “Colors” and “Woods” collections are on display. The lower level features a presentation room and a breakout area, showcasing examples of the popular residential range laminates.
